David Davies
Founder and Director
David Davies has more than 25 years business development, commercial, negotiations and deal execution experience in a range of companies in the oil and gas and energy industries. These include Marathon Oil Corporation, Sterling Resources, Enterprise Oil, Premier Oil as well as Rolls-Royce Power Ventures and General Electric Power Systems. This experience includes 10 years in Marathon based in Houston as Head of the commercial and negotiations team in the business development organization responsible for major transaction negotiations and deal execution. He also served as Managing Director of Equatorial Guinea LNG joint venture on behalf of Marathon and as a non-executive Director for Marathon's shareholder in EGLNG.
He is a chartered professional engineer holding a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Leeds University and holds an MBA from London Business School.
He has lived and been based in South East Asia and Houston, Texas as well as spending significant time internationally on deal execution including North West Europe & UKCS, Russia, Eastern Europe, Albania, West Africa, South East Asia and the US.
He has spent 10 years on the Board of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and served as President of AIPN for 2016-17 and is currently Immediate Past President for 2017-18. Within AIPN he acted as co-chair of the drafting committee for the Unconventional Resource Operating Agreement issued in 2014. He has also been active in AIPN in developing educational workshops and seminars and instructing on negotiations and model contracts. While in Marathon he led and instructed on Marathon's commercial skills course over 10 years.
